The Springfield Armory Kuna is a semi-automatic large frame pistol equipped with a pistol brace that is designed for home defense, self defense/security/duty use. The Kuna is the latest offering from Springfield Armory, the Kuna is Springfields dedicated pistol caliber carbine, all in pistol form. The Kuna comes in both a braced and non braced variant, this model features a Strike Industries FSA brace. The Kuna is unique in that the design incorporates successful designs from other companies all into one affordable package. The Kuna features a monolithic forged 7075 T6 aluminum upper receiver while the lower receiver incorporates a injection molded glass filled polymer design creating a lightweight yet durable design. The Kuna features emergency flip up iron sights that are of a hybrid design, when folded, the sights take on the classic Springfield pattern U-Notch rear and contrast front, when deployed, the sights take on a peep style rear with a hooded front that is adjustable. One of the stand out features in the Kuna operating system, the Kuna incorporates a a roller delayed blowback action reminiscent with H&K style firearms. This type of action offers a smooth and reliable function that is not only proven but often preferred. The charging handle is non reciprocating and ambidextrous, meaning you can swap it from the current left side location to the right if you so choose.
